Joshua was born on July 20th much earlier than expected. We only had two days with him, but those two days changed our lives forever. The love we felt for him was immediate and overwhelming, and even though his time here was short, he will always be our son and part of our family.

Losing Joshua was the hardest thing we have ever experienced. Grief is something you learn to carry, and over time we have found ways to keep Joshua’s memory part of our everyday lives.

For the past several years we have participated in the Empty Arms 5K walk and run in Joshua’s honor. It has become an important way for us to remember him and be part of a community that understands the pain of pregnancy and infant loss.

Every year on Joshua’s birthday we also honor him by choosing a toy for the age he would have been and donating it in his name. It is one of the ways we celebrate him and keep his memory alive.

Supporting Empty Arms means so much to our family because they provide connection, compassion, and support to families going through unimaginable loss. Being surrounded by others who understand reminds us that Joshua’s life matters and that we are not alone.

Joshua’s life was only two days, but the love we have for him is lifelong. Thank you for supporting this cause and helping us honor Joshua while supporting other families walking this path.
